The goal with family sessions isn’t perfection. Real life is far more interesting than that.
The goal is to remember how it feels to be in this stage, to hold your children when they are exactly this size. As parents, we all know that it goes by quickly, and even the hardest stages have elements that are missed as we watch our babies grow and change.
So book the photo session. Run and play and laugh with your family. Make photographs that you can hang on your walls or print into a book to flip through when the kids are older.
Most importantly, family sessions are an opportunity for connection with each other. A time to shut out the rest of the world for a while and focus solely on each other. What a gift.
I offer portrait collections for immediate and extended families, with various options available depending on what you envision for your session. We can spend an hour together or three, documenting this season of life and your favorite activities. Maybe it is a morning playing on the beach, maybe it’s a night on Dad’s sailboat, maybe a dinner under the tree your Grandparents planted at the cottage. The options are endless; let’s talk about how to preserve the beauty of this season for years to come.

IMMEDIATE FAMILY PORTRAIT COLLECTIONS
Immediate family sessions are intended for the family you call your core group, consisting of up to eight individuals. Two humans and your dogs, parents with their small children, or more seasoned parents with their adult children. Immediate family portrait sessions can take place at a location of your choosing in Leelanau County or Traverse City. Interested in having me come to you? The Keepsake Collection
$2000
The Keepsake Collection includes an extended period of coverage to allow for the possibility of two locations or a slower-paced session at home. This collection allows for more documentary coverage, and along with the digital files, you will also receive a custom-designed hardcover album displaying your memories.

The Heritage Collection

The Heritage Collection offers the opportunity to photograph your family in one location. Perhaps that is on your favorite hiking trail or playing in the sand and waves at your favorite beach. Collection includes the digital files of images.

EXTENDED FAMILY PORTRAIT COLLECTIONS
Picture this: you rent a home in Leelanau County with your entire extended family. You lounge in the yard together each evening, drinking wine, eating dinner, and chasing the kids around. Bare feet squish the mulberries that fell from the tree in the yard, and the summer sun hangs low and warm. You want to hold onto this moment–the grandkids as they are with their chubby fingers and shrieks of joy, your kids now grown and laughing together.
Hold onto the memories by inviting me into the magic of your time together. Let’s relax at your family cottage or or have a bonfire at your favorite beach. We’ll take some more formal portraits of everyone together, but mostly, we will make photographs that freeze you all in this moment, on this particular family vacation in northern Michigan. Let’s remember it for a lifetime.

Make a plan to display your family photos after your session. From fine-art albums to coffee table books and prints, I have options for every style and budget to make sure that your photographs are enjoyed for generations to come.
Let’s book your session!
When you’re ready to move forward, a signed contract and retainer fee of 50% of the total session fee is due to book your date. The rest of the fee is due the day of your session. The contract and all session fees can be taken care of online.
Once your session date is reserved, I will send over a guide with helpful tips to help you make the most of our time together, and we’ll also schedule a short call to talk through your expectations, location, and wardrobe recommendations!
