Nikki and Dan were married on a stormy afternoon in July. The day started off with tornado warnings and high winds that delayed the reception set-up in Nikki's family back yard. When I showed up, things were behind schedule, yet everyone was in great spirits. Neighbors came over and chipped in with the clean up, and her family rolled up their sleeves to make sure everything was beautiful. And wow, did they do a great job. Nikki and Dan's reception was incredible, despite additional tornado warnings and a heavy rain that kept us trapped in the tent and delayed dinner. No worries from their guests, though- everyone just started dancing. I think that is how we should all solve problems.
It was an honor to witness what can happen when family and friends surround a couple, dedicating their energy to ensure that they have the celebration of their dreams. Looking back at these images still makes me smile so big- I hope you catch some of that positive energy as you look through them!
I photographed this wedding as part of the awesome brand For the Love of It.
